ZIENCuentos is an international storyteller, who after traveling through South America, the Canary Islands, Cuba, Spain and France, now travels Mexico with his backpack full of stories and tales; thanks to the boom that currently exists in social media and live interaction, he will accompany us in our event L.A. Libros Fest with its show Tales of Love & Humor.

What does heritage mean to you? How do you identify and why? / ¿Qué significa herencia para ti? ¿Cómo te identificas y por qué?
Reconocer el patrimonio es altamente importante para la humanidad, debido a que se fortalecen las raíces y la identidad cultural en cada país y me considero orgulloso de ser parte del patrimonio inmaterial del mundo, gracias a que ejerzo hace casi 30 años el noble oficio de conservar la memoria y narrar las historias del mundo, con las cuales han aprendido y escuchado la tradición oral algunas generaciones, durante las últimas tres décadas.
Recognizing Heritage is highly important to humanity, because the roots and cultural identity of each country are strengthened and I consider myself proud to be part of the intangible heritage of the world, thanks to the fact that I practiced almost 30 years ago the noble profession of conserving memory and narrating the stories of the world, with which oral tradition has been learned and listened to by some generations during the last three decades.

How does your heritage inspire your creativity? / ¿Cómo tu herencia inspira tu creatividad?
En altas dosis de creatividad, que me permiten adaptar cualquier tipo de relato (niños o adultos) para luego narrarlos e improvisar con una gran agilidad mental de ser necesario.
In high doses of creativity, which allow me to adapt any type of story (children or adults) and then narrate and improvise with great mental agility if necessary.
¿Cómo aparece tu herencia en tus obras?
Cuando hago referencias a mi abuela cuentera, a mi país natal y a mis raíces latinoamericanas.
¿Cuál es el regalo más grande que te ha brindado tu herencia?
Disfrutar la oportunidad de compartir mi talento como storyteller con miles de personas en distintos países del orbe.
How does your work as storyteller helps preserve your heritage?
Telling the most beautiful stories of the universal oral tradition and literature and preparing to publish a book of fantastic bilingual stories for children, based on the adaptation of my Latin American heritage.
