LAPL Celebrates Free Comic Book Day

Candice Mack, Senior Librarian, Young Adult Services,

Los Angeles Public Library is thrilled to celebrate Free Comic Book Day this week!

First, the Vermont Square Branch Library is hosting an Anime Drawing Workshop with Carlos Nieto on Thursday May 5th @ 4 p.m. At this workshop, students will learn how to draw an anime style character using basic shapes and step-by-step instructions so that they may repeat the process later and create their own characters!

The Los Feliz Branch Library is hosting a screening of the second film in the Captain America Marvel film series at 1 p.m. and featuring two drop-in craft programs all day long, where patrons can create superhero masks and/or superhero finger puppets!

The Memorial Branch Library will have blank comic strip pages available at the Reference Desk all day for patrons to draw the library a comic.
