I am thrilled to be working with and alongside the Echo Park community. It is my passion to help people to succeed and reach life-altering goals. It's heartwarming to know the people in this community can come together and help bring those goals to fruition.
Cassandra Landicho
My name is Cassandra and I’m the new Adult Literacy Coordinator at the Exposition Park Library. My background is in Recreation Management and I contributed to the writing of the textbook, Introduction to Recreation Services for People with Disabilities. Whether it be through the Library or Parks and Rec Department, I believe in providing meaningful, accessible programs and events for people of all backgrounds. I’m passionate about cultivating healthy and thriving communities!
Christopher Garcia
Hello, my name is Christopher Garcia and I was recently named adult literacy coordinator at the Pacoima Branch Library. Before coming over to the Los Angeles Public Library, I spent four years with the Los Angeles Unified School District. It is a great blessing to serve the community of Los Angeles but more specifically the San Fernando Valley. I hope to truly make a difference in people lives.
Gloria Cervantes
My name is Gloria Cervantes and I am the Adult Literacy Coordinator for Pico Union library. Working with the Adult Literacy program has been an incredible adventure. I love spreading happiness and hope to the adult learners who work very hard to achieve their dreams.
Jessica Berry
My name is Jessica Berry and I am one of the newly hired Adult Literacy Coordinators for Junipero Serra Branch. In my professional background of Human Services, I have assisted many diverse populations at various vulnerable points of their lives. I am extremely motivated to continue my journey of empowerment with a new group and community.
Lisa Sprinkles
My name is Lisa Sprinkles, the new Adult Literacy Coordinator in the Venice area (which also covers Playa Vista, Mar Vista, Westchester-Loyola Village, and Palisades Branch Libraries). As a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara my professional background is non-profit management and fund development with a focus on literacy and trauma-informed care services. My passion is equity, equality, and servicing the adult learning community and the collective success of everyone.
Zachary Valdivia
Over the last few months it has been a pleasure working for the Adult Literacy Center here at Washington Irving. This job has been very fulfilling, fun, and challenging all at the same time. It brings me joy knowing that I am making a difference in the community one learner at a time.
Zenay Hayward
Hello! My name is Zenay Hayward and am the new Adult Literacy Coordinator in Lincoln Heights area serving the communities of El Sereno, Cypress Park, Highland Park, and Eagle Rock. My entire professional career has been advocating for underserved communities. Now, I have the opportunity to continue my passion by working with our volunteers and students. The ability to change someone's life through reading and writing is exciting!
