Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi is an emotion-filled and compelling sequel to the incredible dystopian novel Shatter Me. In this new addition to the series, we are provided with a deeper view of the characters and their complexities, and connections begin to grow where least expected. The story begins immediately after Shatter Me left off, with Juliette finally experiencing freedom and learning about the true capabilities of her power. Not only does she develop and evolve into a more confident and determined woman, but her relationships with both Adam and Warner begin to evolve, adding layers of intense emotion and complication to the story and creating a love triangle. A vital aspect of this novel is the blooming romance Juliette experiences with them and page by page; I became more and more invested in the possible outcomes. As Juliette's relationships with the two men become more intricate, she is faced with numerous conflicting emotions and moral dilemmas, all while working to fight against the tyrannical Reestablishment and pushing herself to her limits. The world-building in Unravel Me is vivid and pulls the reader in as we discover the intrigue and complexities of the dystopian world. As Juliette becomes a vital part of the resistance in the fight against the Reestablishment, she is faced with new alliances, betrayals, emotions, romance, and revelations about herself. Unravel Me was an unbelievably exceptional sequel to Shatter Me, and I enjoyed it even more than the first book.
