Celebrate Women’s History Month with the power of forbidden literature. Performed by VOX Femina, L.A.’s premier all-female chorus, this free live concert features passages from Banned Books set to music. Toni Morrison’s Beloved, Juno Dawson’s This Book is Gay!, and the classic Alice in Wonderland receive new life through musical adaptation. The concert will also feature a brand-new commission from composer Jennifer Lucy Cook inspired by Margaret Atwood’s electrifying novel The Handmaid’s Tale. You won’t want to miss this empowering vocal performance in Central Library’s Mark Taper Auditorium.
