If you sign up for Libby with your phone number, your access expires after one year. To keep reading, you'll need a full-access Los Angeles Public Library card or e-card.

How to add a LAPL library card or e-card to Libby

1. Apply for a library card or e-card (if you already have a LAPL library card or e-card, skip to step 2).
2. Add your LAPL library card and pin to Libby.
3. Delete your previous Instant Digital Card (this won’t delete existing checkouts and holds.)
4. Transfer checkouts and title holds to your full-access library card — Email cso@lapl.org with your mobile phone number and library card number for assistance.
