January 27 marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a time to reflect on one of history's darkest chapters and honor the memory of its victims. The United Nations designated this day to coincide with the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and extermination camp. This solemn occasion remembers the six million Jewish men, women, and children who perished, as well as the millions of other innocent victims of Nazi persecution.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is not only about paying tribute to those who were lost but also about reaffirming a commitment to education. By learning about the Holocaust, we can gain insights that inspire a future free from hatred, bigotry, and violence.

The Library has curated a collection of books available both on Libby and our physical catalog, with librarian-selected titles that explore personal stories, historical accounts, and reflections on resilience and humanity. Visit our blog for a personal narrative and book recommendations.

Explore these and other resources today. Together, let us remember the past and work toward a world where all people can live in peace and dignity.
