From all of us at the Los Angeles Public Library, at the Central Library, and the 72 branches, we are pleased to announce the best books of 2022 as selected by our staff, who volunteered their recommendations. Since 2011 LAPL Reads has been presenting these.
Once again, this was another year with exceptional challenges for everyone, including all of us at the library. However, the staff of the Los Angeles Public Library has been resilient, enthusiastic, and dedicated to bringing all of you numerous recommendations.
Among the best books of 2022, you will find many to delight and inspire, bring joy and hope, and some that will entice you to read something different. We hope there is at least one book, or more, that will make you want to read on and on. For a last-minute holiday gift, there is nothing like a book, and one of our selections might be perfect.
