All you need in order to create a universe is a library and your imagination.

Octavia Lab in Central Library is our new do-it-yourself maker space and audiovisual studio, located in LL2.

Use of lab equipment requires an in-person lab application. Call us at 213-228-7150 for more information or to reserve a computer, equipment, or studio. Email us at octavialab@lapl.org for more information about the Lab.

For group visits of the Octavia Lab for teens or kids of more than 10 people, please contact Children's Literature at 213-228-7250 or Teen'Scape (the teen department) at 213-228-7290 to make the arrangements.

For adult group visits of the Octavia Lab, please contact the Lab at 213-228-7150.

  • Mondays 1 - 5 p.m.
  • Tuesdays 1 - 5 p.m.
  • Wednesdays 3:30 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays 3:30 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Fridays 1 - 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays 1 - 5 p.m.
