Mariana Galvez is a children’s book author and illustrator best known for her Dia de Muertos artwork. She was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and grew up in South Los Angeles. She spent her childhood immersed in books and art during weekend trips to the library. After a number of years in the corporate world, she was called back to illustrating when creating art for her three children. She is the artist behind Little Astrology Catrinas, Mi Ofrenda, and My Pet Flamingo. She currently resides in Whittier, CA where she loves to garden, cook, and chase after her beloved dog and cat.
