How To Read & Visualize Mobile-Session Data on the AirCasting Website

Step 1

To see data collected by you and other AirBeam2 sensor users, go to the AirCasting Maps.

Step 2

Select the Mobile tab in the search filters panel on the left of the screen and enter your search criteria:

  • Select the Parameter menu and select Particulate Matter
  • Select the Sensor menu and select sensor AirBeam2 + unit of concentration: PM1, PM10, or PM2.5
  • Type in address/location of the sensor
  • Type in Profile/Session name
  • Type in Tags
  • Crowd Maps: select Off

Step 3

Sessions that matched your search criteria will appear on the AirCasting maps with a color dot that corresponds to air quality index) being the actively recording sessions and gray dots for dormant/inactive sessions. These sessions are also listed horizontally in white rectangle boxes at the bottom of the AirCasting Maps page.

Troubleshooting

If you do not see your session(s) listed, refresh your screen using the browser's refresh button, then do a search using the search filters to locate your sessions. If the map does not show your location, check the "Redo search if map is moved" box and drag the map to your location.

Step 4

To visualize the data in graph form, you can either click the color dot on the map or click on the white box at the bottom of the page.

Step 5

Click on (X) on the upper right of the graph to exit.

What Do the Colors in the AirCasting App Mean?

The colorful circles and data points you see in the AirCasting app aren’t just cool to look at – they mean something too! The colors used in the app are based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Air Quality Index (AQI) color scale and show the AQI level based on measurements that were made over 24 hours. The AQI explains how air quality impacts your health. Visit AQI basics to learn more about AQI.
