Harbor City-Harbor Gateway Sensory Room

Sensory room with various equipment and lighting


The Harbor City-Harbor Gateway Sensory Room provides a dedicated space for self-soothing and sensory exploration.

The Sensory Room is available to youth and their caregivers by reservation only. Reservations are for 45-minute intervals and are limited to 2 sessions per week. Please call 310-534-9520 to make a reservation. For more information about the Sensory Room, email sensoryroom@lapl.org.

Things to Know:

  • The space is open to all young people seeking a sensory-friendly environment, but please keep in mind that it is not a general play area.
  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver and cannot be left unattended in the room at any time.
  • Group size must not exceed 5 people.
  • Some equipment and furnishings may not be suitable for children under 3 years old.
  • Food and drink are not permitted.
  • A valid Los Angeles Public Library card is required for the individual making the reservation.
  • Please be sure to read the Sensory Room Policy in full before your reservation.
