  • What is a mobile outreach vehicle?

The Los Angeles Public Library has three mobile outreach vehicles. These are multifunctional vehicles that serve to showcase library services to a wide audience. The vehicles allow for demonstrations of the online library catalog, database research, and e-media services. The mobile outreach vehicles are not bookmobiles.


  • Where do you go?

The Outreach Team attends community events and visits organizations within the City of Los Angeles. We also partner with other City departments. Most events we attend are free and open to the public.


  • How do you decide which events to attend?

In addition to our guidelines for attending community events, we also have to consider the vehicle's dimensions before deciding if a Street Fleet vehicle can attend an event.

Yes! The vehicles have a curated collection of books for checkout.


  • Can I get a library card at an outreach event?

Yes, the outreach team can provide library cards at community events.
