Description:

Join Ben Cadwell, renowned filmmaker and the founder of the KAOS Network, an arts collective and center based in Leimert Park, for a 90-minute masterclass in video production. Participants will explore the creative use of media for community representation, including a short viewing of Ben Cadwell’s film projects. Participants will receive an overview of the videography equipment that is available in the Octavia Lab. Participants will walk away with a greater understanding of how to document and capture their personal experiences of community, culture, and technology on video.

The Octavia Lab is a do-it-yourself maker space located inside the Los Angeles Public Library's historic Central Library.

This event is part of the No Prior Art program series, which celebrates invention and innovation. No Prior Art runs from September 2024 to May 2025 and will result in 50+ programs across 22 participating branch locations. To learn more, please visit lapl.org/nopriorart.
