Description:
Join us to create a cardboard train sculpture. Participants will work both individually and collaboratively using cardboard as a versatile artistic medium with a curriculum inspired by BIPOC artists and inventors. Each participant will receive a free Tinkering Toolkit, a "makerspace in a bag" filled with useful tools and kid-sized safety equipment to support making, prototyping, and resourcefulness. This program is for kids ages 5-11 and is capped at 20 participants.
This program will take place outdoors on the Edendale patio.
This event is part of the No Prior Art program series which celebrates invention and innovation. No Prior Art runs from September 2024 to May 2025 and will result in 50+ programs across 22 participating branch locations. To learn more, please visit lapl.org/nopriorart.
This program is made possible with support from Getty through its PST ART: Art & Science Collide initiative.
