If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times—the book was better! There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie or that the fun-looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The library is here to the rescue! Here, we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit screens big and small and give you the chance to read before you view.

Antony Penrose's The Lives of Lee Miller is a nonfiction account of the life of his mother, Lee Miller, model, photographer, and war correspondent. After a misuse of her image ended her successful career as a fashion model, Miller moved to Paris to apprentice with the surrealist artist Man Ray. From there, her career as a photographer took off, eventually leading to her involvement as a nurse and war correspondent in World War II. The film adaptation of this incredible person’s life, titled Lee, starring Kate Winslet and Alexander Skarsgård, will open in theaters on September 27, 2024.
