One of the most enjoyable aspects of having a Los Angeles Public Library card is the wide variety of lifelong learning opportunities available. Discovering new hobbies and learning for pleasure is easier than ever with on-demand and streaming video. Fortunately, we have a variety of ways to access this educational and instructional content at no cost, just with your Los Angeles Public Library Card. Here are just a few of these new opportunities:


Craftsy via Libby

Craftsy is an online video resource for all creative makers from basic instruction to advanced techniques for fabric and yarn crafts, baking, drawing, and much more. Over 20 subject areas are offered as well as over 1500 courses. Live events are also offered for streaming. Find it in the Libby app. Download the free app, add our library, your library card number, and PIN, and look for “Extras” to get started!


Coursera

Library users can sign up for 6 months of Coursera access on the CA State Library website. After registering, Coursera can be accessed directly at coursera.org. Coursera's mission is to provide learners with access to more than 5,000 on-demand video courses and certifications led by top businesses, universities, and organizations. These offerings are especially focused on career readiness and updating job skills. This resource was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
