The Canoga Park Friends of the Library sponsored an amazing collaborative among Connectopod (a non-profit organization that uses podcasting as a vehicle to develop youth leaders and to instill an understanding of multiple points of view), Mr. Blythe’s 9th grade English class at Canoga Park High School, and the Canoga Park Branch Library. Starting with the course curriculum, Betsy Meiman and Martin Blythe put the students to work. They gave the students their voice as the students became the voices of the characters Edgar Allan Poe wrote into The Tell-Tale Heart. The class was introduced to the many professions that bring us audio recordings—and just had a lot of fun. This process left the taste of the literary piece on each of their tongues. Lean back and enjoy this production by our Canoga Park teens.
